Update from the road

The show heads east!

This morning I packed the truck, added extra layers of plastic tarps over and around the crate and wrapped frames, shoved the rest of my gear in and hit the road. I'm currently in Reno, NV awaiting the arrival of flight DL555.

My buddy Dan Henry, a musician, has graciously offered to meet me here to help with the drive east. This is the first season in many years Dan doesn't have a scheduled tour so he wanted to make sure he scratched that particular long drive itch. He will also be using the drive as an opportunity to make field recordings for his own works in progress.  It will be great to have company on the drive and I'm looking forward to catching up on the three years since we've seen each other.  The drive will mostly be long days in order to make good time, but tomorrow we will hit one of my favorite highways, US 50 the loneliest stretch of road in the lower 48. Then we will end near Moab, UT so we can spend a little bit of time checking out the area around Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. After that, the bulk of the drive will be on US 70 all the way through to the PA Turnpike.
